Day 26- May 15th

So today we woke up amongst our 26 raccoon friends, (yes, I recounted all the raccoons in our raccoon suite at Nature's Inn). Although we had the blinds shut and went to bed a little later than usual thanks to Dominos delivery pizza, (yummmmm!), our bodies woke us up at 6:00am sharp!

Check out was at 11, and then we made our way to the laundromat to do some laundry. So far we've only had awesome experiences at the laundromat, and this time was no different. A lady who was there washing her clothes let us use her soap so we didn't have to buy any. There was also a sweet donut shop right next door!

After laundry we headed to the park to stretch and continue relaxing for a few hours, waiting out the hottest time of day and really getting our bodies stretched out and ready to hit the trail again!

Leaving Big Bear, some people let us fill our water bottles with water from their house, so kind! Then as we were just about to stick our thumbs out and hitch back to the trailhead, someone preemptively pulled up and asked if we were headed out!

It was a guy named Mike, a girl named "Squirrel", and a girl named "Listen". They were also thru-hikers on the PCT. They had rented a car to drive around the fire closure, Mike was going to return the car and then catch up with the girls later.

At the trailhead we met a guy named "G-String". While walking along the fire closure, someone gave him a three-stringed guitar, missing the G-string, hence the name!

We hit the trailhead around 5pm, walked 4.53 miles of the PCT, and are now camped at a nice little wooded area. Again no rain fly, the weather's supposed to be beautiful all week!

(Except Tuesday?)

We have enjoyed our R&R in Big Bear, kind of amazed that we technically didn't take a zero there, as we hiked over 8 miles yesterday and about 4.5 today. However we feel very rested and are excited to be back on the road! (Or better yet off the road and back on the trail)

-Thanks for Reading!
